Project Salomonkatu

At christmas time 2001 our landlord informed us that they are planning to build attic apartments to the house and that the residents need our basementspace to store their stuff. So that ment we had like 4 months to look for a new place.

After a little panic and confusion we spotted a new potential place, located on Salomonkatu, from the Internet. Our chairman Kalle 'Ball Buster' Kataja contacted the firm and soon we had a chance to see the place.

These are the pics from the first trip. The place looked a little bit shabby but we liked the plan. We also found out that our nextdoor neighbour was a dancestudio ;)

As we had expected the rent for the place was much higher as for Korkeavuorenkatu (4 times higher in fact). So we had to do some serious calculations. We then decided to haggle a bit ;) The firm accepted our considerably lower offer and promised to renovate the place and we signed the contract.

First weekend renovating the place 17.5.2002. We started building some walls to split the big rooms to smaller spaces. This is the 'computerside' of the space which we are splitting to 2 sections.
