We founded Clan Cute some time after Quake was first released and people started playing it on the net. We used to have 5-10 guys playing Quake online at the same time through a single 256kbit connection when QuakeWorld was made. It was a hell lot of a fun.
We maintained the legendary Cute QW servers, which were at that time the place to meet the very best players in Scandinavia and occasionally other parts of the world as well. On the servers Clan Cute players could be recognized by their skin: black suit and the Red Shoes(TM).
We played Regular Quake, CTF, TF, QuakeWorld deathmatch, QW duels and QW teamplay matches. Our QW 4vs4 team became pretty competitive and we played a lot of QW duels as well. Unfortunately we started playing as a team a lot later than our neighbours in Sweden and Norway, which had clan activity multiple times greater than ever in Finland. We became acquaintances with players from the legendary Clan 9, da Swedish Mob (hi guys) and a big bunch of other really nice Scandinavian and foreign players. Our Team Fortress clan was pretty successful as well, reigning the scene for a good period of time.
Known Cute DM members include Blitzer, Fjodo, Deadguy, Jazzoman, Kowanen, Late / L8, Masa, Marfik, Mike, Tomppa and Wilco. The Team Fortress pages contains a full member listing of all players who played in the Team Fortress team. Our farm clan Forever In Farm, run by Spede, has also been kicking ass in its own league.
The clan activity has faded since 1999, as the games got outplayed and the interest slipped away along with many tough international opponents quitting as well. We haven't played any of the new Quake alike games as a clan because of lack of interest.
